Map: Ordnance Survey Explorer 118 Shaftesbury & Cranborned Chase
This circuit of about 30 kilometres takes in some attractive countryside to the east and north of Shaftesbury. Only some 4 kilometres of of-road cycling are included, making it a useful introduction; though there is variety the difficult sections are short enough to encourage beginners to persevere. For cyclists who prefer to stay on roads, detours are provided. Most of the roads used a relatively traffic free.
