How does this site work?
This site works using a bespoke Content Management System (CMS). This system has been developed over the last 5 years to power various websites, including Pubsulike which currently receives over 40,000 visitors every week and lists details of over 49,000 Pubs Bars and Inns. Unlike many other Content Management Systems this particular one has been developed entirely in-house and as such does not have to suffer the compromises that are inflicted on the Open Source Packages that are freely available or the limitations provided by other commercial platforms. The design attitude taken has always been quality, quality, quality and to that end only a bespoke package would suffice.
The site allows for multiple management levels allowing individual users to access their own information and a structured hierarchy above that allows for Sub-Category, Category, Site and System Administrators.
Microsoft .net based applications have been developed to automatically generate keyword and other meta information based on the content, which as a content managed site, is by definition changing regularly. These applications are fully integrated into the CMS to minimise the amount of system administration time.
Remember Ulike Systems have over 25 years experience developing bespoke software for Newspaper, Electronic Point of Sale, Accounting and Website applications. So if a new feature or facility is needed we just go and design it!
The Site QuickSearch facility allows the user to type in a name, description, part of a name or description, the whole database will be searched for a match (it does not matter whether you use upper or lower case characters). The search takes place on our database names, the Company, Organisation or Person, if you do not find what you are looking for why not try our Quickfind facility that lists particular categories.
The Site QuickFind facility allows the user to select a particular Category of entry to display listing all entries within that particular Category, in alphabetical order. Don't forget you can also use our QuickSearch facility by entering a name or part name in the search box on the QuickSearch form.
